Few streets are as well known in Manchester as Elm Street. In 1838, the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company hired young Ezekiel Straw as an engineer to plan Manchester's downtown. In his design, Straw included a wide main street - Elm Street, which became the commercial center of Manchester. For many years, one of the most distinctive features that lined the street were the decorative arched lights, recreated here in this gallery.
